An evening meal can usually be arranged, as can packed lunches for days out in the hills. Heating and cooking is mainly wood fired at Racquety Lodge. The house has a PV solar array.
Racquety Lodge is in a lovely location overlooking the Black Mountains and Hay on Wye. Offa’s Dyke and Wye Valley walks are adjacent to the property. Hay-on-Wye is a short walk away so leave your car and walk to town. Hay has many second hand bookshops an excellent independent bookseller for the latest good read, as well as a selection of art galleries, antique shops and other good independent retail outlets and market town shops.
The countryside is renowned for it’s appealing combination of beautifully kept farms and wild wooded hills topped with blue heathery mountains and moorland. Therefore outdoor activities such as canoeing, horse riding, walking, fishing, visiting historic buildings and sites or just launching yourself into wonderful wild Wales are easily achieved from Racquety Farm.
